Lift Requirements

For certain building sizes and heights, specific lift equipment is required to safely and correctly assemble your structure. Below, you’ll find guidelines for lift requirements to help you prepare for installation day.

Why Are Lifts Required?

Lifts are necessary for:

  • Safely raising and positioning taller metal structures.
  • Installing large or heavy roof panels, trusses, and framing components.
  • Ensuring structural integrity during assembly.
 

Our team will let you know in advance if your project requires a lift, and we can help coordinate equipment rental if needed.

Building Dimensions Requiring Lifts

If your building meets any of the following criteria, a lift will likely be required:

  • Height: Buildings taller than 12 feet.
  • Width: Buildings wider than 30 feet, depending on the height and roof pitch.
  • Roof Pitch: Steeper roof designs may necessitate lifts for safe installation.

Lift Equipment Specifications

For projects requiring lifts, the following equipment is typically recommended:

  • Scissor Lift: Ideal for interior work and lower roof installations.
  • Boom Lift (Telescopic or Articulating): Suitable for taller buildings or structures requiring extensive reach.
  • Forklift with Extended Boom: Used to lift heavy components to elevated areas.

Who Provides the Lift Equipment?

  • Customer-Provided Equipment: You are welcome to arrange for lift equipment yourself. Please ensure the equipment is on-site and operational prior to the installation team’s arrival.
  • Assistance with Rentals: If needed, our team can assist in coordinating lift rentals through a trusted local provider. Rental costs are the customer’s responsibility.

Important Safety Guidelines

  • Ensure the lift equipment is operated by a certified professional if you’re renting on your own.
  • Clear the installation site of debris and obstacles to allow safe maneuvering of the lift.
  • Notify our team in advance if you foresee any issues with lift availability or site access.
